Our focus:

Preparing students to explore the opportunities in the military career fields through employment, job shadowing, internships, or volunteer work.

Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of engineering and military-related career field experiences.

Born in Beaver Falls, PA (Home of Joe Namath), George graduated from Big Beaver Falls Senior High School in 1994. He was accepted into the Civil Engineering program at the University of Dayton. In the fall of 1995, George began tutoring some children at the Boys & Girls Club on the west side of Dayton. After weeks of tutoring, George knew that education was where he wanted to be. Beginning in the winter of 1996, George enrolled in the Elementary Education program at the University of Dayton. In December of 1998, he graduated from the University of Dayton with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (Math Concentration).

Two weeks before graduation, George was hired by Dayton Public Schools to fill an empty Math / Science teaching position. He taught in Dayton Public Schools for 2 1/2 years, before being hired by Jefferson Township Schools to start the Jefferson Academy (7^th / 8^th grade Math & Science). After a successful year at the Jefferson Academy, George was asked by his current principal (Mr. Albert Jordan) to think about a great opportunity at Mound Street Military Careers Academy.

After three successful years of teaching Career-Based Intervention (CBI) at Mound Street Military Careers Academy and earning his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership at the University of Dayton in 2003, George was offered the principal position in the same academy. Currently, George is on his seventh year as one of the principals at Mound Street Academies.
